Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands is calling on the Falmouth community to step up for local youth waiting for a mentor. As part of the organization’s ongoing “Waiting Little Campaign,” this month’s spotlight is on Angel, a rising first grader from Barnstable who’s ready and excited to be matched with a Big Brother.
Angel is 7 years old, full of energy, and always up for something new. He loves being outdoors, playing sports and games, building things, making arts and crafts, and anything that counts as silly, fun, and active, whether that’s a trip to the arcade, an afternoon at a trampoline park, or trying an activity for the first time.
Right now, Angel is hoping to find a mentor who can teach him how to fish, introduce him to 3D printing, and dive deeper into sports together.
“I’d love to have a Big Brother who likes to have fun and teach me new things,” Angel says.
Angel isn’t alone. Dozens of other youth across the Cape & Islands region are currently waiting for a match.

Becoming a Big is simpler than people think. BBBSCCI welcomes volunteers of all races, ethnicities, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. The only requirements: being 18 or older, holding a valid driver’s license, and being able to commit a few hours a few times a month for at least a year, with a genuine passion for making a difference in a young person’s life.
For over 50 years, BBBSCCI has supported thousands of youth across the region. Learn more about becoming a volunteer, or registering a child for the program, at capebigs.org.
